These guys ROCK! Definitely one of the tightest bands I have
seen live.”
Billy Zero, XM radio Unsigned Program Director
There is no question of Doug Segree's genuine enthusiasm and love for
the music he makes. In August 2004 the Mid-Atlantic based Music Monthly
said of the CD
Come Again -"Doug Segree is one
of our brightest stars." A
singer/songwriter out of Annapolis, MD, he speaks to his audience
through acoustic guitars and spirited vocals.
People
are drawn to the melodic nature of the music - great songs about life,
sung with conviction and performed with true passion.
He began his music career as a regular performer at local college bars
in and around Gainesville, Florida while receiving his MBA at the
University of Florida in 1994. The world of business took a backseat as
he began fulfilling his love for writing and performing his own music
that has taken him to stages from New York to Florida for the past
decade.
Doug was recently voted best solo
artist in Annapolis for the third year in a row (2005, 2006. 2007) by What’s
Up Annapolis Magazine. He has
successfully recorded and released four CD's over the past six years
with his latest, Live - One Night Only,
(recorded at Maryland Hall for the Creative Arts May 2005), released in
October of 2005 on the independent label Kid Arnold Records.
"Sick, sick, sick. This music is totally infectious immediately upon
the first listen. Be forewarned that after playing this CD [Come Again]
you will not be able to get these songs out of your head."

Doug and his bandmates take it to another
level on the stage. The band features an
all-star cast with world renowned percussionist Victor
Williams (John Mclaughlin, Dennis Chambers), saxophonist Scott Paddock
(Little Feat, Bela Fleck), guitarist Dan Leonard (Deanna Bogart),
bassist Steve Zerlin (Facing East, Jerry Garcia) and drummer John
Thomakos (Carl Filipiak).
Doug has contributed his talents in donating his time and services to
great cause for The Summitt School, Friends Foundation, The Boys
and Girls Club and the SPCA to name a few.
He recently placed songs on the DVD version of the WB network’s TV show
"Felicity", and has been included on the "Independents 4 Kerry" CD-Rom
with bands from the USA, UK and Canada. He has also garnered airplay
from XM radio, WRNR 103.1, WTMD 89.7, WHFS 99.1, DC 101, 98 Rock and
various college stations in the Mid-Atlantic region.
Doug and his band have
also recently performed live on Channel 2 News Baltimore for the “Good
Morning Maryland” program broadcast.
Performing solo or with his band, Doug Segree has been a mainstay in
the Mid-Atlantic region sharing the stage with Matchbox 20, Sister
Hazel, Less Than Jake, Dave Mason of Traffic, Pat McGee Band, Derek
Trucks, The Coral Reef Band, George Clinton and P-Funk, Dave Edmunds
Fighting Gravity, and Mark Broussard. He
has been playing the past six years at every Washington Redskin home
game at Fed Ex Field along with performances at select Washington
Wizards basketball games at the MCI Center. He
has sold out the nationally acclaimed Rams Head On Stage in Annapolis
on several occasions and has continued to add performances in national
clubs like the Recher Theater, the Ramshead Live! and the Funk Box in
Baltimore. He has been a part of the "Dewey Tradition" for the past
nine summers, helping create the Suicide Sunday afternoon deck parties
at the world famous Starboard in Dewey Beach, DE.
